After gathering all participants, the journey begins with a visit to the House of Virgin Mary. The House of Virgin Mary is believed to be the place where Mary spent her last days, possibly arriving here with Saint John. Declared a shrine by the Roman Catholic Church in 1986, it is now a significant pilgrimage site, visited by Pope Paul VI in 1967. The visit to this sacred site lasts approximately one hour, followed by a 10-minute drive to Ephesus. Ephesus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site showcasing the cultural richness of the Hellenistic, Roman, and early Christian periods. This historic city holds great significance for Christianity, being one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. It is also believed that Apostle Paul spent over two years here during his missionary work. Over the course of two hours, participants will explore Ephesus by walking its marble streets, guided by an English-speaking expert. Key sights include the Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domitian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, and the public latrines. For those interested, the Terrace Houses, also known as the "Houses of the Rich," are available as an optional visit for an additional 15€ per person. These well-preserved homes offer a unique insight into the lives of Ephesus’s wealthy citizens. Afterward, the tour continues to the iconic Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theater, and Arcadiane (Harbor Road). A delicious lunch will be served at a charming local restaurant, providing a relaxing break amidst the day’s historical exploration. Following lunch, the group will visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This site offers fantastic photo opportunities, including views of the Church of St. John and the Isa Bey Mosque. The tour concludes with a visit to Sirince, a picturesque hillside village located 9 km from Ephesus. Once a Greek settlement, Sirince is now a vibrant Turkish village known for its traditional architecture and fruit-flavored wines. Participants will have free time to wander through the village, taste local wines, and enjoy its charming ambiance. The tour ends around 4:30 pm, with participants dropped off at their respective hotels.
