Tour Itinerary
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Istanbul, where you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Izmir. Upon arrival at Izmir Airport, you will be greeted by our driver, who will take you to Ephesus to start your full-day tour.
First, visit the House of Virgin Mary, believed to be where Mary spent her final days. This significant site was officially recognized as a shrine by the Roman Catholic Church in 1986 and has since become a major pilgrimage destination, especially after Pope Paul VI visited in 1967. You will spend approximately 45 minutes exploring this peaceful site before a quick 5-minute drive to Ephesus.
Next, discover the ancient ruins of Ephesus, a testament to the cultural legacies of the Hellenistic, Roman Imperial, and early Christian eras. As one of the seven Churches of Revelation, it holds great significance for Christianity. During the two-hour guided tour, you will walk along the marble streets and see notable sites such as the Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domatian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, and Latriens. An optional visit to the Terrace Houses (historically referred to as a brothel) is available for an additional 15€ per person—just let your guide know in advance. Following this, we will explore the Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theater, and Arcadiane (Harbor Road).
Afterward, we will head to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This stop offers excellent photo opportunities of the nearby Church of St. John and Mosque of İsa Bey from stunning vantage points.
Our next destination is Sirince, a charming village once inhabited by the Rum (Byzantine Greeks) located in the hills of Selçuk, just 7 km from Ephesus. Following the peace treaty after the Turkish National War (1919-1922), Sirince became predominantly Turkish. The village is renowned for its picturesque traditional houses and fruit-flavored wines, and you will have time to enjoy some wine tasting.
The day will conclude around 4:30 PM, after which you will be transferred back to the airport for your flight to Istanbul. Our driver will meet you at the airport and ensure your safe return to your hotel in the evening.
