Tour Plan
Upon your cruise ship's arrival at Kusadasi Port, your guide will be ready to welcome you with a personalized sign. The tour begins with a short drive to the revered House of the Virgin Mary.
The House of the Virgin Mary is believed to be the place where Mary spent her last days, accompanied by Saint John. Officially designated as a shrine by the Roman Catholic Church in 1986, this site has become a significant pilgrimage destination, attracting visitors from around the world. The Pope visited the shrine in 1967, further solidifying its importance. Your visit will last about 45 minutes before we take a brief 5-minute drive to Ephesus.
Ephesus stands as a remarkable testament to the cultural traditions of the Hellenistic, Roman Imperial, and early Christian periods. This ancient city is a key site for Christianity, recognized as one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. The Apostle Paul is thought to have spent two and a half years in Ephesus during his third missionary journey. You’ll have approximately two hours to explore the ancient city on foot, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. Our knowledgeable English-speaking tour guide will accompany you, leading you through the site, which has two entrances. Starting from the upper gate is advisable due to the slight downhill slope. During the tour, you will visit key highlights, including the Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domitian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, Latriens, and the Terrace Houses (commonly referred to as the 'Brothel'), as well as the Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theater, and Arcadine (Harbor Road). We will also visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, where you’ll have the opportunity to take stunning photographs of the nearby Church of St. John and the Mosque of Isa Bey.
After the tour, we will ensure you are promptly dropped off at Kusadasi Port, returning you to your desired location on time. Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities, and we look forward to providing you with an exceptional experience.
