Tour Plan

Upon your arrival at Kusadasi Port, you will be greeted by your private guide, who will accompany you on a scenic drive to the ancient city of Ephesus.

Ephesus stands as a remarkable testament to the cultural traditions of the Hellenistic, Roman Imperial, and early Christian periods. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is not only significant for its historical architecture but also for its importance in Christianity, as it was one of the seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation. The Apostle Paul is believed to have spent approximately two and a half years in Ephesus during his third missionary journey.

During the next two hours, you will explore the ancient city, walking along its marble streets while your knowledgeable English-speaking guide shares captivating stories about its rich history. The site features two entrances, and starting from the upper gate is recommended due to the site's slight downhill slope. Key highlights of your tour will include the Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domitian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, Latriens, and the Private Houses, commonly known as the 'Terrace Houses.' You'll also discover the famed Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theater, and the Arcadiane (Harbor Road).

The Terrace Houses on Curetes Street were once home to the city’s elite and date back to the 1st century AD, with some remaining occupied until the 7th century AD. These luxurious residences feature intricate mosaic floors, elegant fountains, and central heating, showcasing the advanced lifestyle of their inhabitants.

Next, you will visit the Ephesus Museum, which houses six chambers displaying a fascinating collection of artifacts unearthed from the ancient ruins. Notably, you will see exquisite marble statues of the Goddess Artemis, dating from the 1st and 2nd centuries AD.

Finally, your tour will conclude with a visit to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of Antiquity. While at this iconic site, you'll have the opportunity to capture stunning photographs of the nearby Church of St. John and the Mosque of Isa Bey from the best vantage points.
